Hi, I’m Alice, a part-time pediatrician and a full-time mom to two boys and a girl.

You can find me with my nose in a book most of the time. I spend most of my days picking up Legos and making sure the screams coming from the other room don’t involve blood.  A full night’s sleep and a trip alone to the bathroom are rare luxuries. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

This post explains why this blog is supratentorial.

This post explains my kids’ secret code names. Also this one. (For those who know me and are confused about who John, David and Ruth are.)

Occasionally I blog about medicine.   I should make clear that when I do I make every effort to be HIPAA compliant. I always change at least the name of any patient I mention and typically also change the gender, age and diagnosis. I may invent a story inspired by something that happened in real life and that I want to reflect on further.  I try and change the details enough that even the person involved wouldn’t know that it was about them if they read it.

Thanks for visiting! Hope to see you again soon.
