A beautiful Saturday. Great day for a winter hike. We tried a new-to-us trail: the Difficult Run loop at Great Falls National Park. It was perfect for us. Just the right amount of rock scrambling to keep the older kids happy but easy enough for a five year old and an out-of-shape forty-something year old. Roxy, our one year old puppy, also had a fantastic time. This hike offers spectacular views of the Potomac River as for a bit you are hiking right along the top of the cliff beside the river. Definitely recommended for a family outing if you are in the area.
