David has become a reader. He’s been blending sounds to make words for a long time. For the past 4 months or so he’s been flying through all his lessons in the Ordinary Parents Guide to Teaching Reading, to the point where we do as many as 3 or 4 lessons in a day. We’ve also been reading Magic Treehouse books together during schooltime. He reads a page, then I read a page. So he’s been reading for awhile.
But all of a sudden recently he’s been looking for specific books at the library. He’s been getting up and finding a book and reading on the coffee table (not sure why there and not the couch). He’s been reading in bed with an flashlight after I turn out the lights. He’s been telling me about books he’s read and why he likes them.
Now, he’s a reader.
