Based on the fact that this book by Claudia Mills is currently listed as $89 on Amazon, I’m guessing it’s out of print. Which is too bad as it’s a really nice Christmas book. The narrative intertwines the story of the Nativity with the parable of the lost sheep. It’s well done. Benjamin, a shepherd boy, is searching everywhere for his lost sheep, Kivsa. When he comes home to his family he is upset to hear that not only is his sheep still lost but he missed an appearance of angels that all the shepherds are wondering over. He and the other shepherds travel to Bethlehem to seek the King of which the angels told them. In the end, as you might guess, Benjamin discovers his sheep in the stable with the newborn Christ. It’s predictable for an adult, but for kids it’s a nice ending to a sweet story.
